The International Partnership for Health Informatics Education seeks to promote education through international collaboration of graduate and undergraduate training programs in Medical and Health Informatics.
The IPHIE 2014 Master Class will be hosted by Taipei Medical University for five days, providing a series of academic conferences, courses lectures and seminars to promote exchange between international students and faculties from IPHIE partners. Established in 1998, the partnership now consists of the University of Amsterdam (Netherlands), University of Heidelberg/ Fachhochschule Heilbronn (Germany), University of Minnesota (Twin Cities, MN, USA), University of Utah (Salt Lake City, UT, USA), University for Health Informatics and Technology (UMIT) (Tyrol, Innsbruck, Austria), University of Washington (Seattle, WA, USA) and Taipei Medical University (TMU, Taipei, Taiwan).
Activities include yearly Master Classes, workshops on International Medical Informatics Congresses and active exchange of both students and faculty among IPHIE partner universities. An international module on Strategic Management of Hospital Information Systems of the European partner universities now is formally integrated and credited as a structural course in each of the European Medical Informatics programs. Additionally, IPHIE partners yearly organize a 2-weeks long Summer School for advanced medical students from all over the world.
The collaboration is open to discuss the enlargement of the partnership with potential new members.
